Meet The Coach
Sean grew up in Roanoke, VA and his mother was the coach. ” I played a different sport every season, baseball in the spring, swimming in the summer, soccer in the fall, wrestling, and basketball in the winter… so I know that I expect kids to try all kinds of sports. Swimming is not just about swimming fast, lap after lap… We have a lot fun!”
Sean started coaching for the Makos in 2010 when he was asked to help coach the youngest swimmers, his son’s group, the 6-unders. The next summer Sean took over more and more responsibilities with the team and has been the head coach since 2012. Sean has coached his son and his daughter, as Makos, and has been able to coach the team with his daughter this summer. Sean knows that summer swimming is a family event, where swimmers of all ages are on the same team, and he is living that with his family.
