May 22, 2026: Rain on May 21 cut the paving work short, and the section in front of Market Square Lane was not completed. That area will need to be closed again for approximately one hour next week, likely on Wednesday, 05/27. A confirmed date and time will be shared once available.
The good news is that work on the Millridge Parkway median was completed successfully. That detour will be removed on Friday, May 22, by 4:30 PM.
Previous Updates:
May 21, 2026: The contractor is working to complete paving on Old Hundred Road this week ahead of incoming rain. Once finished, the median crossover at Millridge will be reopened prior to the long weekend.
As part of the repaving work, access to Market Square Lane will be closed for approximately one hour today (05/21) between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. The closure is necessary to allow the asphalt to cool to the proper temperature before reopening to traffic.
During that time, the Market Square access point across from Millridge will remain open and should be used for all traffic entering and exiting Market Square.
May 7, 2026: Progress is being made with the ongoing roadwork in the area, and all major work is expected to be completed with detours removed prior to Memorial Day weekend.
One upcoming temporary closure to be aware of: The eastbound Millridge to southbound Old Hundred right turn lane will be closed starting Wednesday, May 13, and is expected to reopen by the end of the day on May 22. The closure is required due to grade differences at the intersection to complete the new turn lane installation.
Upon reopening, the intersection will be fully paved and complete with no further detours. During the closure, drivers needing to reach southbound Old Hundred should follow detour signs up Millridge Pkwy or use other known alternate routes.
April 17, 2026: Quick update regarding the upcoming traffic changes at the Old Hundred Road and Millridge intersection.
The contractor will not be closing the median crossing until Monday, April 20, 2026. Beginning Monday (April 20) morning, the median crossing will be closed, and a detour will be in place for all left turns into and out of Millridge.
At this time, the right turn from Millridge onto southbound Old Hundred Road will remain open. The contractor intends to maintain this right-turn access throughout construction if possible. They expect to have a clearer determination next week (April 20 – 25) once grading is finalized, and the connection between new and existing asphalt is better defined.
If a temporary closure of the right turn becomes necessary, we anticipate receiving approximately one week’s notice, and the closure would likely be limited to 1–2 days.
We will continue to keep the community informed as more information becomes available.
March 25, 2026: Refer to the maps linked above for traffic patterns and detours. What to Expect:
- Week of April 13 (subject to change): A detour at Millridge Parkway is expected to begin.
- Week of March 30: Paving will begin on sections of Old Hundred (north of Millridge) and new lanes in Market Square. Once paving is complete in Market Square, traffic will shift to the north side, and the south side will be closed for curb and asphalt removal.
- Late Week of March 30: Work will begin on the southern portion of Old Hundred (Millridge to Route 360).
- Week of April 6: Pipe installation will begin in the median along Old Hundred.
Important Traffic Changes During Median Work:
- No left turns or through traffic from Millridge Parkway onto Old Hundred.
- Right turns from Millridge onto Old Hundred will still be allowed.
- To travel north on Old Hundred, residents should use Millridge Parkway → Brandermill Parkway → right onto Old Hundred.
- Northbound Old Hundred traffic will not be able to turn left onto Millridge; drivers will need to continue to Brandermill Parkway and loop back.
- Residents leaving Market Square can turn left onto Old Hundred and right onto Millridge to return to the community.
