Governance

The community holds annual elections to elect the BCA Board of Directors. Directors are volunteers and serve three-year staggered terms. The board is responsible for establishing policy, rules, and regulations on behalf of the membership. A professional manager and staff are employed by the board and are responsible for the day-to-day operations and administration of the community. The BCA has several volunteer committees, which assist the board and staff. The Annual Meeting is held in April. The board holds monthly meetings.

All board meetings are open to the community, and members are encouraged to attend. A “Member Voice” period is set aside at each board meeting so community members may address the board directly. Meeting schedules, notices, local and community news, and events are published on the Community Website, in the monthly newsletter, the Compass, and weekly community updates. Meeting notices are also posted at the BCA office. Agendas and minutes for all board meetings are available at the Association office and on the website.
