The Chesterfield County Planning Commission voted unanimously in favor of Planning Department Director Kirk Turner’s recommendation to accept the zoning application as presented regarding the Brandermill roundabout sign located at the intersection of Brandermill Parkway, Old Hundred Road and Kelly Green Drive.
After many meetings with Brandermill representatives and county staff members, a compromise was reached on the redesign of the sign that will meet county standards. Proposed alterations to the sign include removal of the tagline “A Waterfront Community” and installation of raised panels with lettering and directional arrows pointing to Swift Creek Middle School and Clover Hill High School.
BCA Board President Dick Guthrie spoke on behalf of the BCA Board and in favor of the application. He was supported by more than a dozen Brandermill residents holding “We Support Our Sign” placards. There were no speakers in opposition to the zoning amendment.
The Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors will address the zoning application on November 28. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the public meeting room of the county administration building at 9901 Lori Road in Chesterfield.
