Kelly-Jayne McGlynn, a 17-year-old Walkers
Ferry resident, placed first at the North American Irish Dance Federation’s (NAIDF) Nationals Championship, held last month at Rowan University in Glassboro, N.J. She garnered her first place win in the Novice ages 15 to 17 category. Kelly-Jayne is a student of Andrea McCarney, co-owner of Heart of Ireland School of Dance in Midlothian.

Two other Brandermill residents also earned accolades at the event. Fortune’s Ridge resident Daria Matheson placed fourth in the Novices ages 13 and 14 category, and Aleise Matheson placed second in the Novices ages 30 and up category. (See related Career Tracks story on page 9.)
