The Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia (CHSV) will present a new heritage festival entitled, “Colonial Market Day in 1780,” on Saturday, May 5 from 11 a.m. To 4 p.m. at historic Castlewood, 10201 Iron Bridge Road in Chesterfield.
Depicting all the hustle and bustle of a typical court/market day in Chesterfield in 1780, this family-oriented festival will include Colonial period crafts, stalls for tradesmen demonstrations, live music, Revolution-era games, costumed interpreters and living history reenactments.
Traditional food and refreshments will be available. Admission will be $4/adult and $1/child (ages 3-12). Proceeds will benefit the Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia.
Throughout the day, the County Museum on the Courthouse Green and the historic 1892 Jail next door will be open to the public at no additional charge. For more information or to volunteer, please call 796-1479.
