Minutes - December 19, 2005

I. CALL TO ORDER - The December 19, 2005 meeting of the BCA Board of Directors was called to order by President Giordano at 7:03 PM in the meeting room of Brandermill Woods, 14311 Brandermill Woods Trail, Midlothian, VA 23112. President Giordano, Directors Bradner, Cook, Gibbons, Livingston, Reamy, and Whitfield, Community Manager Pritz and recorder Judy Agee were present.

II. MEMBER VOICE – No members were present.

III. MOTION TO APPROVE MINUTES – December 7, 2005
MOTION: Director Reamy moved to approve the minutes of the December 7, 2005 meeting, as amended.
MOTION SECONDED: Director Bradner.
MOTION CARRIED: Unanimously

IV. PRESIDENT’S REPORT – No report was given.

V. TREASURER’S REPORT – Director Whitfield reported that the 11-month financials had been completed.

VI. COMMITTEE REPORTS –
NRC - The NRC will provide the board with an update on their plans at the January meeting.
Pool - The 2006 pool contracts have been received from Swim Metro and Community Manager Pritz has emailed Kathleen Martin to schedule a meeting with the pool committee.

VII. MANAGER’S REPORT - Community Manager Pritz highlighted her written report. She reported that she met with the editor of a book that will be written and titled “Treasures of Virginia,” which will feature Brandermill and Woodlake. The book should be available in the spring and it will be advertised for sale in the Village Mill.

VIII. EXECUTIVE SESSION –
MOTION: Director Reamy moved to enter into Executive Session at 7:10 PM for the purpose of discussing a personnel and legal matter.
MOTION SECONDED: Director Cook.
MOTION CARRIED: Unanimously


IX. RETURN TO OPEN SESSION -
MOTION: Director Livingston moved to return the meeting to open session.
MOTION SECONDED: Director Bradner.
MOTION CARRIED: Unanimously

MOTION: Director Livingston moved to direct the community manager to discuss the marina with legal council and to handle the developmental plans for the marina.
MOTION SECONDED: Director Cook.
MOTION CARRIED: Unanimously

X. ADJOURNMENT -
MOTION: Director Reamy moved to adjourn the December 19, 2005 Board of Director’s meeting at 9:00 P.M.
MOTION SECONDED: Director Bradner.
MOTION CARRIED: Unanimously

Police arrest resident on multiple charges

Changes in nature’s elements can be hazardous to your boat

The late summer drought caused many waterfront boat owners to move their boats closer to the water. Following heavy rains and the rise of water levels in the reservoir, some boaters have not checked their boats, and, consequently, some boats are now floating on their cradles or are swamped. (more...)
