Please properly manage leaf disposal

Spring and warmer weather is fast approaching—hopefully, so it’s time to finish removing accumulations of leaves in your yard, driveway, ditches and along curbs.

We live in a wooded community, but piles of leaves can be unsightly, grow mold, block drains, and become home to snakes and rodents. Leaves along the curb make a property look unkempt and can give a poor first impression, defeating the efforts of the “Show Me Brandermill First” marketing effort.

In addition to poor curbside appeal, piles of leaves can cause flooding problems in drainage ditches along the roads.

Bagged leaves can be removed from a property a few at a time by most trash haulers, and many residents prefer to mulch the leaves to use in planting beds.

Please don’t blow or rake leaves into the street or leave piles of leaves for a long period of time before contracting with a company to vacuum them. Show Me Brandermill First—not the leaves.
