Florist shop opens in Market Square

Janice DavisThe move to Brandermill was an easy decision for Janice Davis, owner of Designs by Janice, a new florist shop in Market Square. Davis relocated her business from the Chesterfield area to be closer to Route 288 and Hull Street Road, and the Brandermill community.

Davis’s specialty is weddings. She loves working with brides and their families and says that once she has designed arrangements for one daughter’s wedding it is not unusual for her to do the same for the sister.

“Customers will always get a detailed custom order that has been tailored to their liking,” says Davis. “I feel we need to exceed our customers’ expectations.” This is why Davis has kept previous customers who now visit her new shop in Brandermill.

Designs By Janice Florist ShopDavis has been in the florist business for 12 years and has her degree from Richard Bland College in Art and Floral Design. She is proud that her lead designer, Sharon Lucero, has “a very good eye for choosing designs that fit our customers” – whether working with fresh or silk flowers, or gift baskets.

“Our shop has a quaint and friendly atmosphere,” says Davis. “From the time you enter the shop, smells of flowers fill the senses.”Customers can enjoy tea or coffee as they browse the unique decorator items, from holiday decorations to small furniture.

Davis and her husband Bob and children Natalie and Forest have lived in the area for over 30 years. They are pleased the shop is in Market Square where they enjoy the support of other small business owners.

Davis invites community members to stop by the new location at 4938 Millridge Parkway East, near the Market Square Post Office. Hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
