Clover Hill High School is known throughout the country for its nationally top ten-ranked show choirs. The CHHS choral program is equally respected for its award-winning a cappella group, Acropolis, made up of 30 of the most talented singers in Chesterfield County. Acropolis students sing without musical accompaniment in up to eight-part harmony.
Acropolis has been invited to be the opening act for the nationally acclaimed and locally based men’s a cappella group, Soundworks, on Saturday, October 27. (Please see ad on page 2.) To show their appreciation and support for the musical arts in education, Soundworks will perform a benefit concert on Saturday, November 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the state-of-the-art CHHS auditorium at 13301 Kelly Green Lane. Soundworks will donate all proceeds to the CHHS Choral Program.
Tickets will be on sale at a discounted price of $7 at the school during lunch hours from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. from November 6 through 9, and at the door on concert night.
Acropolis and the Clover Hill Choral Boosters are excited and grateful for Soundworks’ philanthropic desire to support excellence in the musical arts. “Soundworks is a national sensation and we are fortunate to be performing with this great group,” says CHHS senior and Acropolis member Michael Sperbeck. “We hope everyone will come out to hear Acropolis and Soundworks on November 10th and support our choral program.”
The Clover Hill Choral Boosters will sell Soundworks CDs after the concert.
