Ragged Relay fundraiser is October 11Posted October 8, 2012 at 4:26 PM, Filed Under: Front Page, Schools, Village Mill
SCMS teams will host the Ragged Relay on October 11 and 12. As a running fundraiser, cross country team members will run for two hours each afternoon. They are asking for pledges, donations, and sponsorships to raise money for new equipment.
The goal is to purchase a finish line kit for cross country races as well as hurdles, protective cages, and other equipment so that home track meets can be held at “home.”
Coach Christopher Calfee again will run his own special Ragged Relay. He plans to run around the SCMS track from 2:30 p.m. on October 11 and all night until 7 a.m. the next day. His goal is to run 100 miles. Those who would like to support Coach Calfee’s and the teams’ efforts, please contact Coach Calfee at email@example.com.
This year’s Swift Creek Middle School Cross Country Teams are up and running. They opened their regular season on September 27 with a home meet versus Midlothian Middle School. More than 50 runners have joined the squads and they are training for five regular season meets, a Northern Division championship, a county championship, and the Maymont XC Middle School 3K meet.
