CCC Chair
The Community Character Committee recently received approval to use BCA community grant funds to plant dogwoods in the newly tree managed area on Millridge Parkway.

Certified Arborist Kate Tuttle, advisor for Brandermill tree management projects, suggested that dogwoods be planted to create a more aesthetically pleasing appearance in the median area.
In future years, the dogwoods will add a pop of beauty as residents and visitors enter the community.
For some in the community, there has been a misunderstanding about the purpose of the grant and who is allowed to use the funding on approved projects. The grant was set up by the BCA Board of Directors to fund community and neighborhood improvement projects. The grant is not limited to residents and their neighborhood projects. It is also for commercial members and community groups.

Vision for the Future
CCC members feel the establishment of the grant demonstrated great vision by the BCA Board and especially Director Keith McGinniss, who spearheaded the idea. The grant is a very timely vehicle for Brandermill as members of the community work to improve the look of common areas and promote volunteerism.
Look around your neighborhood and common areas to see if there is an area where you and your neighbors can put together a project. If you need help or information, please contact the CCC or your NRC rep.
Special Thanks
CCC members thank Theresa Biagioli for the time she gave to bring the dogwood project to fruition. Thanks also go to Kate Tuttle, volunteer residents Andrew Russek and Dan Foldenauer for help in planting, and Maintenance Director Charlie Cashion for lending a helping hand and providing water for the dogwoods.

We feel the establishment of the grant showed great vision by our Board of Directors and especially Director Keith McGinniss who spearheaded the idea. It is a very timely vehicle for us to have in the community as we work to improve the look of our common areas and promote volunteerism. Director McGinniss used funds a few years ago to enhance an area in his neighborhood.

The CCC thanks Theresa Biagioli for the time she gave to bring this project to fruition. We also thank Kate Tuttle, arborist, and two residents, Andrew Russek and Dan Foldenauer. As always, Charlie Cashion was on the premises to lend a helping hand and provide water for the dogwoods.
